MINUTES
The City Commission Worksession was called to order at 5:31 p.m. by Mayor Warmington.
Present: Mayor Stephen Warmington, Vice Mayor Bill Larson, Commissioner Chris Carter,
Kevin Davis, Stephen Gawron, Clara Shepherd, and Lawrence Spataro.
2004-80
A. Request to Fly the Mexican Flag.
Latinos Working for the Future are requesting permission to raise the Mexican Flag.
Motion by Commissioner Spataro, second by Commissioner Shepherd to approve the
request to fly the Mexican Flag.
ROLL VOTE: Ayes: Gawron, Larson, Shepherd, Spataro, Warmington, Carter, and
Davis
Nays: None
MOTION PASSES
B. Support for the Grand River Band of Ottawa Indians.
The Grand River Bands have been pursuing Federal acknowledgment through the established
administrative process since 1994. They are asking assistance from the Muskegon City
Commission to help them with this pursuit.
Motion by Vice Mayor Larson, second by Commissioner Carter to approve the letter of
support.
ROLL VOTE: Ayes: Larson, Shepherd, Warmington, and Carter
Nays: Spataro, Davis, and Gawron
MOTION PASSES
C. 2005 Budget.
Discussion was held on the proposed 2005 Budget.
The Commission Worksession adjourned at 8:43 p.m.
