CITY OF MUSKEGON City Commission Worksession January 9, 2006 MINUTES The City Commission Worksession was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Mayor Warmington. Present: Mayor Stephen Warmington, Vice Mayor Stephen Gawron, Commissioner, Chris Carter, Kevin Davis, Lawrence Spataro, and Sue Wierengo. Commissioner Clara Shepherd arrived at 6:27 p.m. (excused) 1. Downtown Grocery Store and Terrace Lots. (Community and Economic Development) Mr. Denny spoke and read letter that was given to Commission. 2. Point of Sale Inspection. (Commissioner Davis) Various comments were heard. Mayor asked that a presentation be set up at a Worksession. 3. Clerical/Technical Union Tentative Agreements. (Assistant City Manager) Updates were given by Lee Slaughter. 4. County Funding for Western Avenue. (City Manager) Meeting that was set for today was cancelled. Will be rescheduled and update will be given at a later date. 5. Appointments to Committees/Boards. Equal Opportunity Committee Income Tax Board Local Development Finance Authority Motion by Commissioner Shepherd, second by Commissioner Carter to appoint Wanda Matsey to the Board of Canvassers. VOTE: 7 Yeas Motion by Commissioner Carter, second by Commissioner Wierengo to appoint Letisha Thomas to the Equal Opportunity Committee. VOTE: 7 Yeas Motion by Commissioner Carter, second by Mayor Warmington to appoint Cedric Jenkins to the Income Tax Board. VOTE: 7 Yeas Commissioner Carter was excused at 6:40 p.m. Motion by Commissioner Wierengo, second by Commissioner Davis to appoint Jason Bolton to the Local Development Finance Authority. VOTE: 6 Yeas Motion by Commissioner Wierengo, second by Mayor Warmington to appoint Shawn McFall to the Equal Opportunity Committee. VOTE: 6 Yeas Motion by Vice Mayor Gawron, second by Commissioner Wierengo to appoint Maris Myers to the Equal Opportunity Committee. VOTE: 6 Yeas Motion by Mayor Warmington, second by Vice Mayor Gawron to appoint Duane Barns to the Local Development Finance Authority. VOTE: 6 Yeas 6. Any Other Business.
