CITY OF MUSKEGON MUSKEGON HOUSING BOARD OF APPEALS MEETING MINUTES 10/4/2012 5:30 PM ATTENDANCE: Randy Mackie, Greg Borgman, Boyd Arthur, Kirk Kolberg, Ed Simmons ABSENT: Willie German EXCUSED: William Krick STAFF: Carmen Smith, Jim Hoppus, Don LaBrenz GUESTS: Meeting minutes: A motion was made by Ed Simmons and seconded by Randy Mackie to approve the September 2012 minutes. DANGEROUS BUILDING NEW CASES EN-120084 – 585 ALLEN(GARAGE) – SANTIAGO TORRES, 2217 HOWDEN, MUSKEGON, MI 49444 . Case was removed from agenda because permit was issued to demolish but no final inspections has taken place yet. EN-120070 – 1723 McIlwraith(Garage) – Matthew Scott, 1723 McIlwraith St., Muskegon, MI 4944 S:\MINUTES 10-04-2012.doc 1 OF 3 Case was removed from agenda because permit was issued to demolished garage and was finaled. EN-120073 – 703 Amity – Chris Guzman, 695 W. Southern, Muskegon, MI 49441 No one was present to represent property. Randy Mackie made a motion to declare the structure substandard, dangerous and a public nuisance and was seconded by Kirk Kolberg. OLD BUSINESS: Discussion about demolition of restaurant on E. Apple Ave. NEW BUSINESS: Mr. Boyd Arthur asked what is happening to the Inspections Department. Greg Borgman stated the City plans to privatize the department. Greg Borgman stated the company is planning on having a open house. Greg Borgman stated he and Randy Mackie met with Director of Public Safety, City Manager, and representatives of Safebuilt on 10/03/12. There was discussion how current positions would be affected.
