CITY OF MUSKEGON MUSKEGON HOUSING BOARD OF APPEALS MEETING MINUTES 2/7/2013 5:32 PM ATTENDANCE: Randy Mackie, Greg Borgman, Boyd Arthur, Ed Simmons, Willie German, William Krick ABSENT: Kirk Kolberg EXCUSED: STAFF: Hope Mitchell, Jim Hoppus, Ken Murar GUESTS: Laura Scott, 745 Ellifson. Election of Officers: A motion to elect Greg Borgman as chair was made by Randy Mackie and seconded by Ed Simmons. A motion to elect Ed Simmons was made by Randy Mackey with Ed Simmons declining the offer. A motion to elect Randy Mackey as vice-chair was made by William Krick and seconded by Willie German A roll call vote was taken: AYES: NAYES: EXCUSED: ABSENT: ABSTENTION: Greg Borgman Randy Mackie William Krick Boyd Arthur Ed Simmons Kirk Kolberg Willie German Motion carried. Meeting minutes: A motion was made by William Krick and seconded by Willie German to approve the October 2012 minutes. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: NAYES: EXCUSED: ABSENT: ABSTENTION: Greg Borgman Randy Mackie William Krick Boyd Arthur Ed Simmons Kirk Kolberg Willie German Motion carried. Property Maintenance Code Appeal Case: 1153 Amity – David & Rochelle Naughton – 7367 S 108th Ave. Rothbury, MI. Case was removed from the agenda by the applicant. Dangerous Buildings New Cases: EN-120001 – 1458 Jiroch. – Brian & Serenda Orcutt, 865 Irwin, Muskegon, MI 49442. A dangerous building inspection was conducted 8/27/2012. Notice & Order was sent 9/4/2012. There has been no compliance to Notice & Order sent 9/4/2012. No one was present to represent property. Randy Mackie made a motion to declare the structure substandard, dangerous and a public nuisance and was seconded by William Krick. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: NAYES: EXCUSED: ABSENT: ABSTENTION: Greg Borgman Randy Mackie William Krick Boyd Arthur Ed Simmons Kirk Kolberg Willie German Motion carried. Old Business: None. New Business: None. Other: The board members had a discussion with Laura Scott in regards to how the dangerous building cases are formed and how the members voted and why. ADJOURNMENT: 6:14 PM CITY OF MUSKEGON AMERICAN DISABILITY ACT POLICY FOR ACCESS TO OPEN MEETINGS OF THE CITY COMMISSION AND ANY OF ITS COMMITTEES OR SUBCOMMITTEES.
