CITY OF MUSKEGON MUSKEGON HOUSING BOARD OF APPEALS MEETING MINUTES August, 03 2017 Board Chair, G. Borgman called the meeting to order at 5:28 pm. ATTENDANCE: K. Kolberg, W. Krick, (Approved Absence) G. Borgman R. Mackie, E. Simmons, B. Arthur, B. Turnquist, J. Lewis STAFF: J. Paulson; SAFEBuilt; K. Leonard, SAFEBuilt; OTHERS: Robert Dempsey: 1934 Hudson (310 Vashti LN, Muskegon MI 49442) Mohinder Baria, 216 Allen Ave (7050 Nantucket Dr. SW, Byron center, MI 49315) MINUTES: A motion to approve the regular meeting minutes from July 6, 2017 was made by B. Turnquist, supported by B. Arthur ; unanimously supported. OLD BUSINESS: EN157069 - 1451 park St Was given 90 days they have not done a thing on the home. J. lewis is going to give them another 60 days. DANGEROUS BUILDINGS - NEW CASES: EN1713224 – 216 Allen Hoyt St. – Mohinder Baria, 7050 Nantucket Dr. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315 J, Paulson Stated the home had a structure fire in November 2015 June 17, 2017 M. Baria bought the home. M. Baria Asked for more time. He stated that he bought the home as an investment and wanted to let it sit. The home was clean in the inside of the home. The city has already cleaned the yard 3 times this year. A motion to give M, Baria 30 days to come up with a plan on the home and also clean up the yard. A motion was made by A. Boyd: Supported by B. Turnquist and unanimously approved. EN1713225 – 1934 Hudson St. – Robert & Diane Dempsey, 310 Vashti LN, Muskegon,MI 49442 R. Dempsey stated he sold the home on a land contract in 2003 and got the home back. Once Dempsey got the home back he was going to sell the home in as is condition. Dempsey did buy windows and got a stop work due to not having a permit. Dempsey stated he don’t have the money to fix the home right now. This home has had 9 yard enforcements on this home. Also a board up on the home. R. Dempsey stated he was looking to sell the home. A motion to give R, Dempsey 30 days to come up with a plan on the home and also clean up the yard. A motion was made by A. Boyd: Supported by E. Simmons and unanimously approved. EN1713223- 1047 Wood St – Ingersoll Financial Midwest Trust,1101 lake Destiny Rd STE 450, Maitland, FL 32751 The owner nor any representative for the owner was in attendance. A motion to declare the structure substandard, dangerous and a public nuisance was made by R. Mackie, supported by E. Simmons; and unanimously approved EN1713226 – 1826 Ray St- Ruth A. Kimbrough, 10301 N Bingham Ave, Bitely, MI 49309 The owner nor any representative for the owner was in attendance. A motion to declare the structure substandard, dangerous and a public nuisance was made by R. Mackie, supported by K. Kolberg; and unanimously approved EN1713227-1839 Hoyt St- Dorothy Campbell, 1829 Hoyt St, Muskegon, MI 49442 J. Paulson Gave D. Campbell 60 days to comply with the plan that D. Campbell submitted to J. Paulson. OTHER BUSINESS: There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 6:46 pm.
