Citizen’s District Council Meeting

CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order by Jeremy Lenertz at 5:32 pm.

ROLL CALL:
Roll call was taken by Sharonda Carson, and a quorum was present.
    Present:
            Ken Johnson - Commissioner
            Jeremy Lenertz
            Samantha Ferguson
            Veania Coleman
            Bonnie Lipan
            Marie Cisneros
    Absent:
            Kim Burr
    Excused:
            James Chabot
    Staff Present:
            LeighAnn Mikesell
            Sharonda Carson
            Oneata Bailey



APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
A motion to approve the minutes from April 21, 2020 (Action Item) was made by Veania
Coleman; Samantha Ferguson seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.




OLD BUSINESS:
2020 Action Plan: The CDC members received a copy of the staff proposed budget via email.
Discussed line items of budget in order to make CDC recommendations for proposed budget.
Request was made to have final budget to be mailed before commission meeting.
There is a 35-day period to collect comments about the report. This report can be found online at:
https://www.muskegon-mi.gov/cresources/Action%20Plan%202020.pdf. Comments can be
submitted by email/phone via: CNSMail@shorelinecity.com or 231-724-6717.

NEW BUSINESS:
Discussion of CDBG- CV stimulus money $585,238.00 given to City for Covid-19 pandemic
activities.

Budget Timeline – Accepted ideas for need in community

STAFF REPORTS:
No staff reports currently.

ADJOURN:
Bonnie Lipan motioned to adjourn the meeting, Marie Cisneros seconded the motion, which
passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 6:34pm.

NEXT MEETING:
The next meeting date is: June 2, 2020.

GENERAL DISCUSSION:
There was general discussion about the use of each allocation category. There was discussion
how the current COVID19 situation would impact activities for youth recreation. There are no
new members at this meeting.
