Citizen’s District Council Meeting
City of Muskegon CDBG
Zoom Meeting

June 2, 2020

CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order by Jeremy Lenertz at 5:35 pm.

ROLL CALL:
Roll call was taken by Sharonda Carson, and a quorum was present.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
A motion to approve the minutes from May 6, 2020(Action Item) with corrections was made by
Bonnie Lipan; Veania Coleman seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS:
CDBG- Coronavirus funding for Cares Act was discussed. The City of Muskegon is preparing to
amend 2019 Action Plan and Citizen Participation Plan. There will be a 5 day notice for
comment period.
NEW BUSINESS:
CDC was asked about a revision, made by Commissioner German, suggesting for lien hold terms
for home repairs to be reconsidered and changed from 5 years to 3 years to allow clients to take
advantage of funding sooner. CDC agrees that 5 year terms is reasonable and fair. No change is
required to lien holds; but would like to consider an increase lien threshold amount from $1500
to $2000 if possible.

STAFF REPORTS:
Staff report that 567 Leonard St. is listed with Greenridge Reality and that they are working on a
virtual tour for everyone to view home.

ADJOURN:
Veania Coleman motioned to adjourn the meeting, Samantha Ferguson seconded the motion,
which passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 6:07 pm.

The next meeting date is: September 1, 2020.
