MINUTES OF THE
LOCAL OFFICER’S COMPENSATION COMMISSION MEETING
MONDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2017
MEMBERS PRESENT: Ellen Davis, Catherine Young, Dwayne Lang, Paul Edbrooke
MEMBERS ABSENT: Virgie Jackson, Greg Borgman, Todd Susterich
STAFF PRESENT: Frank Peterson, Barb Shullenberger
I. Call Meeting to Order
The meeting was called to order at 4:04 p.m. by Chairman Paul Edbrooke.
II. Election of New Chairperson
A motion was made to elect Dwayne Lang as the new chairperson by Paul Edbrooke and seconded
by Ellen Davis and was unanimously approved.
III. Approval of Minutes of October 1, 2015
A motion to accept the minutes of the October 1, 2015 meeting was made by Catherine Young
and seconded by Ellen Davis and was unanimously approved.
IV. Setting of Salaries for the Mayor and City Commissioners for 2018 and 2019
Catherine Young noted that she feels that there is justification for an increase in salary compensation
for the Mayor and City Commission since they haven’t received an increase in salary since 2008/2009
and are requested to speak and attend many events.
Motion – A motion was made by Ellen Davis to increase the Mayor’s salary by $300 to $8,100 and the
City Commission’s salary by $200 to $6,500 in addition to increasing the Mayor’s Training, Education
and Travel budget by $500 and the City Commission’s Training, Education and Travel budget by $250.
The motion was seconded by Dwayne Lang and was unanimously approved.
V. Adjourn
A motion was made by Dwayne Lang to adjourn the meeting and was seconded by Catherine Young.
The meeting adjourned at 4:14 p.m.
