                                            MINUTES OF THE

                         LOCAL OFFICER’S COMPENSATION COMMISSION MEETING

                                      THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2015

MEMBERS PRESENT: Greg Borgman, Ellen Davis, Virgie Jackson, Catherine Young

MEMBERS ABSENT: Dwayne Lang, Paul Edbrooke, Rosalind Yvonne Ford

STAFF PRESENT: Frank Peterson, Barb Shullenberger

I. Call Meeting to Order
The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. City Manager Frank Peterson introduced himself and
informed the commission that Chairperson Paul Edbrooke was absent and asked Ellen Davis to chair
the meeting. She agreed and had everyone at the table introduce themselves.

II. Approval of Minutes of October 15, 2013
A motion to accept the minutes of the October 15, 2013 meeting was made by Greg Borgman
and seconded by Catherine Young. They were unanimously approved.

III. Setting of Salaries for the Mayor and City Commissioners for 2016 and 2017
Catherine Young noted that she feels the City is showing enough improvement and financial strength
to justify an increase in salary compensation for the Mayor and City Commission. City Manager Frank
Peterson implied that the Mayor and City Commission will most likely turn down a raise. Greg
Borgman asked when the Mayor and City Commission last received an increase in salary. Frank
Peterson indicated they hadn’t received an increase in salary since 2008/2009. Greg Borgman
proposed that the Mayor’s salary be increased by $300 to $8,100 because he is requested to attend
and speak at many events and increase the City Commission’s salary by $200 to $6,500; the City
Commission also participates in many events but not to the extent the Mayor does.

Motion – A motion was made by Greg Borgman to increase the Mayor’s salary by $300 to $8,100 and
the City Commission’s salary by $200 to $6,500. The motion was seconded by Catherine Young and
       was unanimously approved.

IV. Adjourn
A motion was made by Greg Borgman to adjourn the meeting and seconded by Catherine Young. The
       meeting adjourned at 4:20 p.m.

       Respectfully submitted,

       Franklin J. Peterson
       City Manager
