SUMMER 2025 RECAP
Improvements & Activity
This summer continued significant investment in major park
improvements using remaining ARPA funds. We opened doors at
several of our parks this summer, hosting community partner camps
at Reese and McGraft and supporting schools with Meet Up Eat Up
at Smith-Ryerson, Reese, and McGraft.
On the recreation-side, our team hosted many beloved community
events that got people moving, enjoying our parks, and engaging with
the each other.
New & Upgraded Amenities in 2025
Play Features
Campbell Field received a new playground. Kruse Park got a nature scape playground designed to blend with
nature and encourage imagination, exploration, and outdoor adventure. The splash pad’s underground system
was also upgraded, keeping it running smoothly all season.
Restrooms
Upgrades were completed at Seyferth, McCrea, and Beukema Parks. Pere Marquette received a new restroom
near the south end of the beach, providing convenient access for visitors.
Park Buildings & Pavilions
The Sim Ray Community Center at Smith-Ryerson Park was fully refreshed, brightening the space for community
events, and new pavilion at Reese Playfield was built.
