CALL TO ORDER II. MINUTES Approval of the minutes from the regular meeting held on November 8, 2012, Civil Service Commission meeting. III. ACTION AGENDA A. Discussion on Rules and Regulations – appeal body v acting day-to-day body. B. Public Utilities Supervisor Job description . C. Lowell Kirsey, Jr. Appeal. D. Request to Extend Fire Captain Eligible List to expire 3/20/13. E. Request to Extend Fire Battalion Chief List to expire 3/20/13. IV. CIVIL SERVICE PERSONNEL DIRECTOR’S REPORT V. STATUS OF RECRUITMENTS – UPDATE A. Elwood - Contractual Employees: There are currently 18 contractual employees through Elwood temporary services. B. Customer Service Rep I (Planning/Part-Time) A requisition for Customer Service Representative I was received on June 26, 2012. Recruitment for transfer was posted and no applications were received. An open competitive recruitment was posted and applications accepted until 12/07/12. A total of 53 applications were received with eligible candidates taking the OPAC test on 01/08, 01/11 & 01/14/13 and oral exams conducted on 01/23/13. The top 3 candidates were certified to the department on 01/25/13. C. Customer Service Rep II (Police) A requisition for Customer Service Rep II was received August 21, 2012. Recruitment for transfer was posted and no applications were received. An open competitive recruitment was posted and applications were accepted until 12/18/12. A total of 42 applications were received with eligible candidates taking the OPAC test on 01/18/13 and oral exams conducted on 01/30/13. The top 3 candidates were certified to the department on 01/30/13. D. Water Plant Operator A requisition was received 10/12/12. Department would like to hold off hiring until June. An open competitive recruitment is planned to begin mid- March. E. Police Captain A requisition was received in December and an internal recruitment was posted 2/5/13. F. ADJOURNMENT AMERICAN DISABILTY ACT POLICY FOR ACCESS TO OPEN MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION AND ANY OF ITS COMMITTEES OR SUBCOMMITTEES The City of Muskegon will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities who want to attend the meeting, upon twenty-four hour notice to the City of Muskegon.
