MUSKEGON BOARD OF CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSIONERS
Regular Meeting Minutes
Monday, July 10, 2017

I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Commissioner David Wendtland at 4:05PM.
Also present: Commissioner Kevin Huss, Kristen N. Wade, Civil Service Director,
Chief Lewis, City of Muskegon Chief of Police and Lisa Vanderlaan,
Departmental Clerk.
II. MINUTES
Motion was made by Commissioner Huss and seconded by Commissioner
Wendtland to approve the regular minutes of the May 25, 2017
meeting.
Motion Carried.
III. ACTION AGENDA
A. Approve the revised Driving Record Policy. Chief Lewis discussed and answered
questions regarding the revised Driving Record Policy.
Motion was made by Commissioner Huss and seconded by
Commissioner Wendtland to approve the revised Driving Record Policy.
Motion Carried.
B. Approve the job descriptions for the Equipment Operator, Fleet Maintenance
Supervisor, Inventory Stock Clerk, Mechanic, and Public Utilities Supervisor. No
questions.
Motion was made by Commissioner Huss and seconded by Commissioner
Wendtland to approve the Equipment Operator, Fleet Maintenance
Supervisor, Inventory Stock Clerk, Mechanic, and Public Utilities
Supervisor job descriptions.
Motion Carried.
IV. OLD BUSINESS
None
V. OTHER BUSINESS
Commissioner Wendtland requested that Civil Service Director Wade present, at
the next Civil Service Meeting, the County of Muskegon’s Personnel Rules in
order to facilitate discussion regarding the opportunities for a replacement to
the Civil Service Rules.
