MUSKEGON BOARD OF CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSIONERS Regular Meeting Minutes Monday, September 21, 2020 4:00 P.M. Webex Conference Call ************************************************************************************ I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Commissioner Johnny Brown at 4:03PM. Also present: Commissioner Lawrence Spataro, Kristen N. Wade, Civil Service Director, Leigh Ann Mikesell, Director of Planning and CNS, Oneata Bailey, Community Neighborhood Services Director, Jay Paulson, Deputy Director of Fire, Dwana Thompson, EEO & Employee Relations Director, and Lisa Vanderlaan, Departmental Clerk. II. MINUTES Motion was made by Commissioner Spataro and seconded by Commissioner Brown to approve the regular meeting minutes of the August 10, 2020 meeting. Motion Carried. III. ACTION AGENDA A. Approve the following job description: Part-Time Fire Inspector and Community Development Specialist. Jay Paulson, Deputy Director of Fire, explained to the commissioners that the last line in duty #6 in ‘Typical Duties’ on the Part-Time Fire Inspector needed to be removed to prevent an issue with the union contract. Motion was made by Commissioner Spataro and seconded by Commissioner Brown to approve the Part-Time Fire Inspector job description striking the last line in duty #6 in ‘Typical Duties’ and approving the Community Development Specialist job description as presented. Motion Carried. B. Approve Human Resources contract between the City of Muskegon and County of Muskegon. Motion was made by Commissioner Spataro and seconded by Commissioner Brown to approve the Human Resources contract between the City of Muskegon and County of Muskegon. Motion Carried. IV.
