Ce) CITY OF MUSKEGON PUBLIC INSPECTION OF ASSESSING RECORDS POLICY Requests for inspection and/or copying of public assessing records may be made verbally and/or in writing to the official/department responsible for the assessing records of the City of Muskegon. if a verbal request is made, the responding authorized individual shall prepare a checklist of items/records requested to be copies and/or inspected. Said listing shall be presented to the requesting party on the date set for inspection or copying. The requesting party shall sign the checklist to indicate compliance with the verbal request. The official/department shall be responsible for the production of the requested copies and shall bill for the copies and preparation time. Copies shall be charged pursuant to the City of Muskegon’s fee schedule and preparation time shall be charged pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act. The official/department shall respond to the request in a timely manner, not to exceed five (5) business days, from the date of said request. The response shall indicate the date, time, and place when the public inspection of the requested public assessing records shall take place. The establishment of the date and time of the public inspection of the requested public records shall be at the discretion of the official/department responsible for the records. The place designated for the requested inspection shall be the location where the assessing records are officially retained. The official/department will allow inspection of the records between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, unless mutually agreed to by the official/department and the requesting party. Any requests made pursuant to Michigan’s Freedom of Information Act shall be made to the FOIA coordinator of the City of Muskegon and shall be subject to the statutory requirements of FOIA.
